Institute for Reformed Baptist Studies
|
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker rightly handling the word of truth. -- 2 Timothy 2.15 | |
Courses
Courses taught by IRBS will focus on the distinctives of Reformed Baptist Theology, Church History, and Practical Ministry. At present, courses have been developed for the following:
Reformed Baptist Doctrine of the Church
Baptist Church History
The Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689
Reformed Baptist Ministry of the Word
Reformed Baptist Pastoral Ministry
Credits
Earned Credits from IRBS will transfer to Westminster's Master of Divinity program (some in the stead of their required courses, and others as electives). Although IRBS will not grant degrees, it will issue a certificate to each student who completes our course of study along with the M.Div. requirements at Westminster.
Admission
The single purpose of IRBS is to direct all studies toward preparing men for the pastoral ministry. Therefore we will admit -
Men only,
who have a credible profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
who have a character above reproach,
who have a sense of call to the ministry,
who have the commendation of a local church,
who have been accepted by Westminster Seminary to pursue its M.Div. program.
Costs
Course charges will be identical to the fees of Westminster Seminary. Institute professors will offer personal guidance to our students -
in attending local Reformed Baptist churches in which there will be opportunities for practical ministry during their years of education, and, in seeking placement in the ministry following graduation.
Instructors
James M. Renihan, Ph.D., serves as full-time professor at IRBS.
